Road Restrictions
Spring Weight Restrictions
Municipal road restrictions, as well as weights and measures regulations, are enforced in accordance with Municipal By-Laws. Within the RM of Hanover, designated No Truck Routes and Spring Road Restrictions help protect municipal infrastructure and promote road safety.
Seasonal spring road restrictions are typically implemented during the spring thaw, when roadways are most vulnerable to damage from heavy loads. Restrictions are announced each March through local media, the Municipal Office bulletin board, community LED signs, and the RM of Hanover’s social media channels.
Roads subject to restrictions are clearly signed. In general, AST (asphalt surface treatment) and asphalt roads under municipal responsibility are subject to some form of seasonal weight restriction. Residents, businesses, and commercial carriers are encouraged to stay informed of current restrictions and ensure compliance to help preserve the municipality’s road network.
2026 Spring Road Restrictions have ended.
Any questions or concerns regarding spring weight restrictions should be directed to the Community Safety Officers:
Officer Trevor 204-326-8656 or Officer Tim 204-905-9380
To report any other traffic violations, please contact your local RCMP detachment.
